Please read this document carefully before receiving services from Iron Mother LLC ("Iron Mother
Lactation," "we," "us," or "our"). By scheduling, purchasing, or participating in services provided by Iron
Mother Lactation, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the following terms.
Terms & Conditions
Services Provided
Iron Mother Lactation provides lactation education, infant feeding support, and maternal support services,
including but not limited to:

Prenatal lactation consultations

Postpartum lactation consultations
-
In-home lactation visits
-
Virtual/telehealth lactation consultations
-
Follow-up consultations
-
Pumping support
-
Return-to-work planning
-
Weaning support
-
Starting solids guidance
-
Educational resources and materials
Services are provided by Taylor Ricketts, BSN, RN, IBCLC, through Iron Mother LLC.
Scheduling and Communication
Appointments may be scheduled through our website, approved booking platforms, or direct communication.
Clients are responsible for providing accurate contact information and responding promptly to requests necessary to facilitate care.
Electronic communication, including email and text messaging, may be used for scheduling, follow-up recommendations, and general communication. These methods should not be used to communicate urgent medical concerns.
Educational Nature of Services
Lactation consultations are intended to provide individualized education, guidance, and support related to infant feeding and maternal concerns.
While recommendations are informed by professional training, clinical judgment, and current lactation standards of care, services provided by Iron Mother Lactation do not replace the medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or ongoing care of your healthcare providers.
You remain responsible for maintaining appropriate medical care for yourself and your infant.
No Guarantee of Outcomes
Every parent-infant dyad is unique.
Although we strive to provide thoughtful and individualized recommendations, Iron Mother Lactation cannot guarantee specific outcomes. Outcomes depend on numerous factors outside the control of Iron Mother Lactation.
Medical Emergencies
Iron Mother Lactation does not provide emergency medical services.
If you or your infant experience urgent or emergency symptoms, including but not limited to difficulty breathing, lethargy, dehydration, seizures, severe illness, chest pain, significant bleeding, or other medical emergencies, call 911 or seek immediate medical attention.
General Consent and Acknowledgment
By receiving services from Iron Mother Lactation, you acknowledge and agree that:

The information you provide is accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge.

You have the opportunity to ask questions regarding recommendations and services provided.

Lactation consultations are educational and supportive services.

Recommendations are based upon the information available at the time of consultation.

Iron Mother Lactation does not serve as a replacement for your physician, midwife, nurse practitioner, pediatrician, or other healthcare providers.

You are responsible for notifying your healthcare providers of symptoms requiring medical evaluation.

You understand that additional medical evaluation, referrals, laboratory testing, or in-person assessment may be recommended when clinically appropriate.

You understand that your participation in implementing recommendations is voluntary.
Telehealth Consent and Acknowledgment
Certain services may be provided through secure telehealth technology.
By participating in telehealth services, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
Nature of Telehealth
Telehealth involves the use of electronic communication technologies to facilitate consultation when the provider and client are not physically present in the same location.
Telehealth may include video conferencing, telephone communication, electronic messaging, and the exchange of photographs or other health-related information.
Limitations of Telehealth
You understand that telehealth has limitations, including but not limited to:

Inability to perform hands-on physical assessment

Limited ability to observe subtle clinical findings

Variable image, audio, or internet quality

Reliance on information and observations provided by the client

Potential need for in-person evaluation or referral
You understand that telehealth may not be appropriate for every concern.
Recommendations for Additional Care
Iron Mother Lactation may recommend:

In-person lactation consultation
-
Evaluation by a pediatric healthcare provider
-
Evaluation by a maternal healthcare provider
-
Emergency medical services when warranted
You understand that it is your responsibility to obtain recommended follow-up care.
Voluntary Participation
Participation in telehealth services is voluntary.
You may decline telehealth services and request in-person services when available and appropriate.
You may withdraw your consent to telehealth services at any time.
Intellectual Property
Educational materials, handouts, guides, website content, blog posts, and resources created by Iron Mother Lactation remain the intellectual property of Iron Mother LLC unless otherwise stated.
Materials provided for personal use may not be reproduced, distributed, sold, or used for commercial purposes without prior written permission.
Changes to These Policies
Iron Mother Lactation reserves the right to modify or update these policies as needed.
The most current version will be made available through our website or client portal.
Continued use of services following updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policies.
